Relaxation and Counselling
Physiotherapy is a science based profession which uses natural means to restore the body to a balanced state.
Physiotherapists have expertise in movement. I am a Chartered Physiotherapist, qualified in the UK, with 22 years experience of treating patients, registered in Spain and the UK. My practice is near the new hospital in Los Balcones, Torrevieja. I am flexible and can visit you at home, or give hydrotherapy in a pool. I work with patients to restore function, activity and independence, as well as to prevent injury or illness. I am able to treat back, neck and joint pain, arthritis, strokes and MS, respiratory problems, including asthma, rehabilitation after surgery or fracture, and women’s conditions.

Treatment may include electrotherapy, massage, mobilisation, exercise, ergonomics and postural advice, learning to relax tight painful muscles and to breathe freely, and advice on how to approach your hobbies and sport.

An initial appointment for assessment and treatment will take an hour and cost 30 euros, plus travel, if applicable. Follow up appointments of up to an hour will cost 25 euros.

My approach is holistic; the body is considered as a whole and, if you wish, any link between stress and your physical symptoms can be considered.
I have worked as a physiotherapist in a field which explores links between the functioning of the body and the mind. I have treated psychosomatic illness, hyperventilation and panic attacks, chronic pain and ME, abuse and eating disorders, and stress related illness. I have experience in the Alexander Technique.

As well as providing general physiotherapy, I can, if required, use an approach which affects the whole person, body and mind; working to change muscle tone can bring about improvements in breathing, mood and well being, as described below.

When a person first comes to see me they are usually, looking for relief from pain, or abnormal muscle tone, as in conditions such as stroke, or Parkinson’s Disease. Often, they are pleased to notice mood changing with normalization of muscle tone.
